We are a local independent garage looking to recruit a vehicle technician /mechanic / MOT tester to work in our busy and friendly workshop based in Petersfield.
The role will include servicing and maintaining customers vehicles to a high standard and working on a large variety of makes and models including some vans, classic/older as well as more modern vehicles.
Requirements for the role are:
Level 3 (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent) in vehicle repairs.
Mot tester preferred but not essential .
Welding/ fabricating experience would be a bonus, but again not essential.
Experience in Main Dealership or independent garages.
Ability to work well as part of a team and alone.
Happy to communicate with both staff and customers.
Have an organised and positive attitude approach to the varied work involved.
Have a full driving licence.
Be generally clean and tidy in a workshop setting.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Carrying out routine servicing and maintenance repairs, changing cam-belts clutches etc., on all makes and models
Carrying out fault finding using computer basted diagnostics tools on vehicles is an essential skill required.
Repair and rectify electrical and mechanical defects to a high standard.
Liaising with customers and service manager when technical advise is required
Fitting tyres and carrying out wheel alignments.
Performing vehicle road tests before and after repairs.
